ES First

welcome to es first

Thank you for visitig ES First online! You can expect to discover that we are an inclusive community made up of a diverse range of people at varying points in their lives. So we invite you to be silly, be serious, be everything in between but more than anything, we invite you to be you, as we take steps of faith together, learning what it means to follow the words and actions of Jesus.

a word from the pastor

Vision is part of our sensory system.  Webster says vision is the act or power of sensing with the eyes. He also states that sight and vision is vivid, imaginative conception or anticipation: visions of wealth and glory. Solomon, in his brief discourse of wisdom and justice states, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," (Proverbs 29:18) and the word vision in this scripture gives Hebrew reference to mental sight or revelation. All areas of our lives can be enhanced where there is mental sight or revelation from God. Stiving daily to live with the influence of vision in our career and finances, our spouse and children, our ministry, should be the primary goal of every serious disciple of Jesus Christ.

How can I find it, where can I learn you might ask. 10:00 on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary of ES First for the next couple of months, that’s how and where.  I look forward to sharing these biblical helps with you and through these truths personally applied, you will never be the same again because of God’s plan that He has for you today.

Theme: I Believe in Water Baptism

A Renewed Relationship

Read Genesis 7:1–10; 1 Peter 3:18–22

In Genesis we learn that because they had fallen so deeply into sin, God determined that the entire human race would be destroyed. God found one man, Noah, to receive favor. Noah and his family built an ark and lived in it for one year while a flood covered the earth. When the waters receded, God established a renewed relationship with humankind.

And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:21).

By grace, God saved Noah and hinted at the greatest story of human history. The flood did not remove sin, it only punished it. But, Jesus died on the cross to remove sin from those who trust in Him. More than that, when Jesus rose from the grave, He provided eternal life.

Through water baptism, the Christian demonstrates the redemptive story. Immersed in water, the believer follows Jesus in death to sin; arising from the water, the Christian walks in a renewed relationship with God.

Challenge for Today: If you are a Christian, be baptized in water.
